Gilded integrates with Stripe, allowing businesses in over 30 supported countries to accept credit cards from customers around the world. You can connect your existing Stripe account with Gilded or create a free account to begin accepting credit card payments on your Gilded invoices.
How does it work?
Once you enable Stripe on your Gilded account, your customers will see an option to pay with credit card when you send them an invoice.
When choosing to pay with Credit Card, your customer will be prompted to enter their name, address, and credit card details to complete the purchase.
Once Stripe confirms that payment is complete, Gilded changes the invoice status to Paid and records the Stripe transaction details for your records.
How does Gilded use your Stripe account?
To generate a secure payment form
To capture credit cards and other payment details securely
To process credit card payments
At no time does Gilded receive or store your customer's credit card payment details. This process is secure and PCI-DSS compliant.
Setting up Stripe integration
1. Apply for a Stripe account
Register for a Stripe account here: https://dashboard.stripe.com/register
In most cases, the account approval process is immediate and most users will be able to accept payments right away. If Stripe needs more information to approve your account, they will reach out to you.
2. Retrieve your Stripe API key
Stripe authenticates your API requests using your account’s API keys. Every account is assigned a set of keys for both live mode and test mode. The test keys are an optional resource for testing credit card transactions. You can configure your test API keys on Gilded in order to test functionality, but you must enter your live API keys once you're ready to process credit card transactions.
Your API keys are available in the Stripe Dashboard: https://support.stripe.com/questions/locate-api-keys-in-the-dashboard

3. Configure Stripe integration in Gilded
1. Login to Gilded.
2. Visit the Integrations page and enter your Publishable and Secret Stripe API keys. Note: For security purposes, Stripe will only reveal your secret key once. Stripe suggests that you record your secret key and store it somewhere secure.
3. Click Save.
4. Send an invoice with credit cards enabled
In order to accept credit card payment on a given invoice, you must check Accept Payment with Credit/Debit card.
Using Test Mode to Test Credit Card Payments
If you wish to test credit card payments, you may configure your test API keys in Gilded. This process is optional. When paying an invoice on test mode, be sure to use the test card credentials found here: https://stripe.com/docs/testing
If you utilize test API keys, make sure that you update your Stripe integration in Gilded with your live API keys once you're ready to process credit card payments.
